A first re-use project related to the blade roots production scrap, otherwise to be disposed as waste, is the subject of our prototype. It is an upcycling initiative in line with the most advanced design trends of the circular economy.

PierPaolo Taddei, designer and Sara Pizzati, architect, identified a use of this scrap as urban forniture and developed for eTa Blades a bicycle rack design evolving into an eco-sustainable Urban Island System where the root / scrap might evolve into several different functions such as: Bicycle Rack, Seats, Flooring, Flowerpots, Baskets etc.

A a first stage, the design was focused on a specific application sector, bike / bike-sharing, and will be placed in Municipalities where the wind farms are located, possibly in the future on larger scale.

The prototype of this system is was exhibited at the eTa Blades stand at Ecomondo-KeyEnergy Fair, from 7th to 10th November 2017.
